You know its possible to poison yourself with black.licorice.
Theoretically! »adults over 40 who eat more than two ounces of black licorice a day for two weeks could suffer heart problems like arrhythmia«
I definitely eat more than two ounces (57 grams) per day, its more like ½ pound per day, but i do that only a few times a year (birthday and Christmas) until my supply runs out. Back in Germany i was eating Black Licorice literally daily and my body should have gotten used to it to a point where it generates craving feelings…
More dangerous than glycyrrhizin is the Ammonium-Chloride salt that is added to "salty" black licorice (DZ=doubel zalt) may cause more damage.

Well, »military hospital« says it all. They have specialized on injuries not child births.
Should have told them »there was an explosion on the base and i was hit with a baby that got stuck in my belly and needs to be cut out.« -> c-section immediately. 😉
I will give the Military Doctors credit for diagnosing my Son's very rare disease. It was one in a million and the disease was only 10 years old founded in Germany when he was born. His skin sample was sent off to Walter Reed and they confirmed it for us.

When my Mom was on heart medication black licorice was on the list of things she could not have. Funny how red is fine to eat but not the black. I never liked the black but always liked the red so I guess I was lucky in that aspect. My weakness is just sugary treats. I crave sugar but drink only diet pop. I guess I have to cut back somewhere, lol.
