Who says so? not Blanca
Blanca knows me all too well to not quack up at the wrong time:

Update on Blanca Dux: We started Physical Therapy today.
How to perform Physical Therapy with Blanca Duck:
  1. Fill bathtub with warm-ish water.
  2. Lower Blanca Duck into water until floating.
  3. Open bag with meal-worms.
  4. Grab some meal-worms and throw them into the tub at one end.
  5. Wait until Meal-worms were devoured.
  6. Grab some meal-worms and throw them into the tub at the other end.
  7. Wait until Meal-worms were devoured.
  8. Go back to step 4 unless Blanca Duck is stuffed (may take some time…)

Result is a mixed bag, right after her bath she was almost walking normal, but an hour later her right foot flipped back to upside down.

Still having furnace issues although right now that isn't too big a deal as we're going through January 'thaw'. ie, three days of freezing rain. :rant

So, furnace starts up, runs for one or two cycles then stops again. And it's the whole HVAC system, as the fan won't turn on when it's acting up, but it's okay when it decides to work.

I really need a wood stove... I worry a lot about power outages.

In other news, birds are all doing fine. Ducks and chickens are happy that it's 'warmer'. Need to decide what I'm doing with the extra cockerel, though. He's not really chunky though, kinda bony, so not much meat. I still haven't culled my extra drakes, either.

She just misses being on the pond and so has tricked you into making a private one for her.
I am already concerned about Blanca turning into a »Patio Duck«, never wanting to return to the outside again. She really seems to like it on the patio.

Regarding the pond, yesterday i filled the kiddie pool in the dux-yard for the dux:
It took them five minutes to turn content of the kiddy-pool into brown soup and they used the excess water to turn the Dux-Yard into a Mud-Yard…
Not captured on video is a lot of duxing that happened later…
And later this afternoon heavy rain is in the forecast…
I opened the fence for them so they can run up to the pond if they want to, but so far they stayed in the mud-yard, drilling for oil.

Anybody around you who has some knowledge about HVAC systems? - Back in Houston we had a similar issue with the furnace once and it turned out to be a faulty air-flow sensor. An expected $$$$ replacement turned into a $80 for a new sensor and ½h of work

Mine haven't found oil yet but I saw a Chinese person stick their head out of one of the holes the other day.

I want brown muddy stuff on the ground instead of white!!!

And... you offered them the chance to go back to the pond??! Are you insane??!!! Thankfully they didn't go. Keep that fence closed! lol

You know, that makes sense. Wish I did have someone who could check it out. I'll ask my daughter if she knows anyone that would have experience in this. Still going to have to wait until most of the snow is gone though...

Well, that explains why some of the weird looking Mallards don't quack but but say lack, lack. 🤣
Yes, the Mallards are back and they're hungry! They raided the pellet-feeder in the dux-run and then flew off to the pond.
