Once again sad news from here:
I had to drive to the farm-store yesterday as we were out of cat-food and pellets and knew immediately that something was wrong when i came back.
Sunny was sitting with her ducklings on the porch and the rest of the flock was hiding in the house.
Three of Sunny's ducklings are missing and three of the rescue ducknagers, including the gray one that needed the vet-visit. 😡
The farm was unattended for just two hours…
Are you sure a human isn’t visiting when you leave?

Someone who wanted them. Do you have any cameras set up for outside?
No cameras outside, since my trail-cam kicked the bucket last year. But that's my point: Who would steal three out of a group of five ducknagers, leaving the two most beautiful ones behind? - And then takes three out of a group of twelve ducklings?
I mean there are weird minds out there…
Looking for some camera equipment right now.

Need you folks' expert advice please. Are these two (the ones in front) Mulards? They stand much taller than 'scovies but hatched with the typical scovy multi-coloured bills. If I remember well, they also hatched a few days earlier than expected for 'scovies.

Please ignore how wet everything is, we got the tail end of Beryl and it's been raining near constantly for the past two days. EVERYTHING is MUCK!

They resemble my Mule duck but time will probably tell as mine got huge. I had three, Rouen Hen, Muscovy drake and mine were two drakes and a Hen. They say 60% of the hatch is usually drakes. I could tell mine were Mules as I only had a Muscovy Drake and they came from Rouen eggs. She is my Sweetest pet as she does not lay eggs but eats like a pig and bosses the rest of the flock around when it comes to food. Mine had the half white ring around her neck also and looked like a Rouen in the head and a Muscovy in the body.

Yeah, as they grow I'm thinking Mulards, too. One of them is already quite big! And his colouring is definitely NOT Muscovy. Will see when caruncles come in.

Yes, absolutely do get a camera... Who would do that? I don't know, somewhat drunk people out for mayhem and one of them being sober enough to think "hey and those for the next time so we don't have to come all the way here again"?

My Mule does not have any caruncles at all. She and her brothers did hatch out at 32 days. She does not quack but honks when she gets excited like a goose. Her brothers both hissed and that was another way I knew they were males. They all three got huge.

Thanks, I'll keep my eye on the ones that I have a suspicion might be mixes!
