The incubator fell off the top shelf in garage, rolled across the lawn, up the step, through the door and landed on the launfry bench plugged in. Must be spring around the corner

That's very good info, thank you! This is really like an addiction... we shoo them into the house around 9 in the evening and by the time we all go to sleep around 11 it's still blah blah and even if I happen to wake in the night and go close a semi open window I can again hear them. I wouldn't believe it if I just read about it.My experience is that all young ducks have a phase of extreme chattiness, starting with their grown-up voice for about one to two months. Then their behaviour depends on the individual duck.
They will today. It's been almost two years since we hatched somethingDid any eggs roll into it, too?
Ducks do not sleep through the night. They wake up frequently and waddle around, have a chat with their colleagues at the bar, grab some food, poop and go back to sleep. That's very good info, thank you! Yes, I know about the not-really-sleeping thing, it's just that our older ducks are so much more silent ... They talk a little while they settle down in their house but that's 10 min tops. We got them at the age of 3 months and some, only a little bit older than what (most of) the young'uns are now.Ducks do not sleep through the night. At any hour during the night i can see some of my ducks using the bar or eating from the supper-bowl or the pellet feeder. I assume it is due to their faster metabolism.
My large pen is right up against my house and I can hear mine talking over world problems all night long off and on. I often wonder who is sleeping and who is talking. lol It's no wonder they like to nap during the daytime. LolDucks do not sleep through the night.
