Trip to feed store leads to political arguement!

Ford has already paid back their portion wanting nothing to do with the bail out, or at least that's my understanding. GM, now that's a different story. Glad I get to help pay for a Volt every time one is sold because it costs more to make than anyone will fork out.

But at least they can afford to sponsor that English soccer team now. I agree on the endless adds, I don't get nearly the amount as you swing states do but when they do come on I take the opportunity to educate my kids as much as possible about the half truths being told.

Ford never took any bailout. So they had nothing to payback.

I hate to bust your bubble but my Brother in law worked for Delphi in Ohio He was not six figures! But he was forced into early retirement after Romney/Bains came in and shut the plant down and shipped the jobs to CHINA!

Well I couldn't find any Delphi company that Bain closed

Maybe you could point out what one you're talking about. Or is it just the new fashion to blame anything that closes on Bain ?

I don't know were your getting your info from But I believe the Ford plant in DETROIT did get help. They were going to shut down. And was in the process of shutting down. I am in OHio and it was all over the news! And this was right after the 2008 elections.

This is one of the many reasons I have gotten my ducks and chickens. I want to go back to basics and teach my children about going back to basics too.

It is a sad world out there, and even sadder when a company is making very excellent profits, but considered by the investors and analysts to be a loser.

We are also trying to get back to basics. I have seen my generation start out with a family where only one parent had to work for money while the other managed the home and children. We matured into that role only to find that both parents had to work for a salary, and often a parent had to find two jobs just to make ends meet. I don’t know how we managed to end up in that situation, but the demands on a person’s time was wound so tight, something was bound to break. For us, it did, and we now find ourselves with precious time. We have to learn to make better use of that time – wiser use of that time.

I don't know where you're getting your information from, but if you look up the auto bailout you'll see Ford got none. Maybe you should rethink where to get your news from.

Inspiring post! It's breaking on our end too. Problem has been saving enough to get a home, or heck, a yurt, and some land. ;)

I am a girl who has an expensive pair of shoes. saved up for two years, for a 250 dollar pair of work boots made in america, high quality, water proof, steel toe logging boots.

I am by no means rich, but I try to go for quality and locally or at least american made. When I can't afford these things, I go to thrift stores. Sure some are probably made over seas, but the money stays in the local area, usually going to help the needy, and I have found good quality clothes at these thrift stores.

I do not always buy american made. There are many times where I just cant afford it. I honestly think we need to encourage business to stay in the US any way we can.

It is better to buy something in the second hand rather than buy something new that was made in China.
