Good to know. We have so much rice as in probably 20 1# bags (long story), but I've been cooking it in the Insta pot so we can have half and they get half. Only about once a week though as I was always feeling a little guilty for doing that lol.
Good article to point out things people may not be aware of that they could do to improve living conditions for their chickens. I really hate hearing people say, "they'll be fine," and I've said it too, but sometimes they aren't fine and things have to change to improve life for them.
Pretty cool but it hurts the eyes to read as there are no capitalizations/grammar. You can copy/paste your text into an MS Word document and spell-check it if you need help with that. Also, some clearer explanations like maybe a step-by-step of how you did this. The diagrams are nice though.
I've seen so many homemade incubators but this is the first homemade chicken door I've seen. Wow, this is cool! I'm going to show this to my hubby as he's an electrician and would understand more of it than I would and perhaps he could build us one! Thank you for all the links!
This is an excellent design of a brooder. We used this and several others as guidelines for what we wanted, then hubby built it. Ours is probably closest to yours as it has more features and the look we wanted for a piece of living room furniture. Thank you!
I love this! Hubby retires in a few months and he said he'd make me a cabinet incubator. I'll show this to him. Awesome the step-by-step instructions and photos to go with it. Nice job!
So interesting and thorough! I could see my roosters in your roosters and now it makes more sense. My current three are wonderful but sooner or later I'll wind up with a problem child again and I'll come back to reread parts of this. Excellent!
Excellent info. I'm bookmarking this for the next time someone says they don't know who is or isn't laying. Me personally, I have silkies so don't care who isn't laying, just grateful for who is!
Thank goodness someone shared a link to this so I could be privileged to read it. What an utterly brilliant piece and so professionally written. I will share this with anyone who does not understand chicken math as this is undisputable proof! Well done!
Thank you, Becky, for sharing your story and the wisdom you gained. I do not have Marek's here that I'm aware of, but know those who do and wanted to learn more about it. I may face it someday and now will be a little bit more educated about it, but regardless, I wanted to know more to be able to be understanding with those I know who do have it. Thank you!
This was so educational to learn that it's probably not just luck of the draw why some chickens absolutely adore me and others see me and run like I've got the plague.
Good topic but some things aren't specified enough yet pushed. Most essential oils in any form are generally not for ingestion by humans, much less by chickens. The brand linked I know has some for ingestion by humans. Maybe in other countries, it's different though.
See the comments below as well as I like the topic, it just needs to cover other forms of oregano oil and more of its benefits.
