This is really nice! The instructions are clear, the pictures are great - step by step and nearly self-explanatory. The only issue I can find has nothing to do with the quality of the article or the waterer. I'd love to see one of these done for use in a region that freezes regularly ...

EDIT - typo correction

Very nice! And a good lesson in how Chicken Math can affect more than just the number of birdies in your yard. It can just as easily affect how much you end up spending on them ... but most of us would agree that they're worth it!

Excellent article. Instructions are clear, warnings on potential problems and circumventions are plentiful - and there are some really good tips - like clamping a piece of plywood to metal roofing to keep your cutting line straight. Then there's the bonus of keeping a family memory alive by repurposing the original structure. I love it!

I have just enough sausage to do this - so I'm gonna try this one tomorrow! I would NEVER have thought to use sweet potato with eggs, even though I love 'em and keep them on hand all the time. I can't wait!

You'll love it! The cinnamon gives it a very savory flavor. I literally just make frittatas out of all kinds of veggies then vary the spices. It's so easy and always delish!

This article has it all - detailed instructions on how to build, including a parts and tool list, multiple diagrams and a time-lapse video. Then there are tips on winterizing, spring cleaning and more. It's a long article, but if you skip anything, you'll miss a good piece of information!

There is a great deal of really good information in this article, but it's so long that it's hard to read through all of it without glazed eyes. It doesn't need to be shortened, or even reorganized, but some "bolded" subtitles or section headings (like those used in magazine articles) would help immensely! They would make reading and absorbing the information much easier, and would make it possible to relocate specific bits of information.
All in all, nicely done!

This article has some really good information, especially about the signs of ammonia overload in birds of different ages. Some of the information is wordy and difficult to interpret, so some simplification would be very helpful for most readers. The sentence about "anticipate evaporative moisture losses" is hard to decipher. It may have a simple typo (should it be anticipated?), but unless the reader already understands the concept, it's kinda hard to interpret properly.
Other than that, this is a really good article, and with the quickly approaching winter weather, a very timely one! Thanks!

This is an interesting topic, but it's rather a "tease." It desperately needs some more "story" and some pics!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with prolapse. The pictures helped a lot. I've heard a lot of stories about prolapses - some positive and many horrible. This article is a great prep for what to look for, what to expect and how to handle it. Thank you.

There is a lot of good information here, but the sentence "shorthand" makes for a bumpy read. The choppy sentences make it hard to differentiate between pros, cons and helpful tips. A little editing would go a long way towards smoothing this out - and make it a good read for anyone considering a pre-fab coop kit.
THANK YOU a thousand times! This cuts down so much hunt-time, sorting through threads and articles. You've covered pretty much everything - and just in time for the Maryland winters ... which are, unfortunately, right around the corner. I want my flip-flops back!

This is a great way to start your search. It's an easy read. It's not a listing of breeds, just a list of the important characteristics you'll need to consider. You still get to do all the fun research on the many different breeds, this just makes it much easier to get started!

Thank you, make sure you didn’t miss the breed chart of the more common large fowl and bantam breeds in the attached zip file. You can download and read on your desk top. It’s in an excel file.
