I agree, the bringer of treats gets all the love. I did some socializing as chicks, but didn't have time for long sessions or anything. Now that they are grown and laying I am able to bring home veggie scraps from work a couple of times a week. Not only do they get excited to see cardboard...

Mine laid about 24 weeks if I remember correctly. Which speaking of laying....my girl was laying an egg every other day. However, it's now been 3 days with no green egg. She's not broody, it's summer so she's getting plenty of air and light and fresh veggies and run outside time. She's...

My EE is beardless and mostly brownish. Not that I don't appreciate her (love the olive green eggs we get!) but really in a group she can almost blend in with my RIRs so not much to look at. My favorite was my black and white hen, but a raccoon got her. :(

Both seem pretty pink in the combs to me for so young...I'd say roo for sure on #1 and leaning towards roo on number 2.

I think you have two boys. It looks like a red comb already and patchy coloring on the top one.

The white and black one I had (unfortunately lost her to a raccoon) was the typical chipmunk chick. Slightly yellower than the others, but not a huge difference. I don't know if you can tell based on chick color.

Splotchy coloring and pink comb I think you are right and it is a roo as well.

Non of my EEs got any red until they were over 18 weeks. My roo didn't start getting saddles until 12 weeks. I think this is a tricky one, but on comb alone I'd guess roo.

I also vote boy. The color is very patchy compared to the b&w hen I had, plus the comb is wide and turning pink already.

I don't know but I've had terrible luck. My first 4 chicks were EEs, supposedly sexed pullets. One ended up a roo. My next batch I ordered 16 assorted brown egg layers and split it with a friend. Lucky me ended up with the only roo in that lot too. Oddly...when I pulled two ducklings out...

I am thinking the whiter one looks awfully rooish? And possibly the one in the back of the first pic?

The top gray one - is its comb turning pink already?
