I've always had one black australorp at a time and they are always at the top of the pecking order but they are very nice about it, I hardly see them peck the other chickens at all
Yah... Toads do have poison glands behind their eyes, they can spread it all over their body. If the chicken eats it fast enough it won't have time to emit the poison , but if the chicken tries to kill it first the poison would have time to spread. Maybe it just doesn't bother chickens.

Yah, before I got chickens i would catch toads all the time, great big fat ones! But after I got chickens I don't see them around so much anymore, I've seen a chicken eat a frog, so the little ones get eaten :(
I believe she has alway had this color of eyes she is a pullet and when they changed from act when she was a chick I guess they just kept getting lighter.
I got her from my pet chicken. She has not layed yet
No she is not unwell, her tail feathers just came in before her other feathers so they looked big... She has grown into them, for now. But soon she will get even bigger feathers. And then she'll have to grow into them.
