Chickens under 2 months dropping like flys,no noticeable symptoms

The CIA... sounds like it would give more symptoms than just sudden death, which I didn't see as a symptom at all in that list.. Still something I never knew about... and good information/researching/support! :highfive:

Anxiously awaiting result! :fl

Even if goldfeather didn't think they are at fault... they should still show concern and ask for an update. Compete denial is just foolish. The wise would want to know what's going on AND offer SOME sort of support. :hmm

I am so sorry for what you are going through. :hugs It sounds terrible!!! And it also sounds like you have been doing everything you can to fix it/find out the cause.

I can't imagine this happening. How many chicks do you have left? I hope this does not affect the rest of your flock!

Like everyone else, I will be anxiously awaiting the results from the necropsies. Than you for sharing your experience with us. Hopefully, the results we learn will help prevent something like this from happening again.

My best wishes and thoughts are with you...

Thanks, just making sure ;)

Yes, lets hope.
Wow, if this turns out to be the case, I wonder what Golden is going to say? But if it is, surely they are going to get other reports. I mean I think we all expect losses here and there, but whole flocks are definitely not normal.
I'm so sorry this happened to you. :(

On the silver side.... this could be very valuable help to others in the future.
Yeah almost everyone I ordered from them is dead, nearly 500 dollars worth of birds. The amount I spent alone youd think would at least earn me some fake concern from them lol. Like at least put on a little performance for me, ya know? Lol

But idk if they are to blame yet. The time line was I lost 2 birds after a sudden change in weather a couple weeks before I ordered from Goldfeather. I wrote it off as to quick a temp change (85 and sunny to 45 and rain/hail/wind). Those birds were hatched here in August. Then after the 1st Goldfeather batch I lost half my order and 2 Brahma from Murray's who were about 2 months old in the same week. Decided it was rain/shipping rigors. Waited a week or so for nice weather and ordered again. They started to die within 24hrs.The same day they arrived (Oct 5th) I'd hatched some birds and they have been this last batch to drop dead, they lasted a little longer than the ones shipped in from Goldfeather. But it's worth noting the chicks hatched from their eggs died a few days sooner than the ones I hatched from my own. My own died yesterday and today.

I hope the lab isn't busy today, wondering what's the issue here is driving me nuts

There are 3 Goldfeather chicks left. My O-Shamo and Asil hatched here from my eggs are strong and healthy. My Ayam Cemani hatched here from my eggs look sad, stressed and ill but they're alive. All the older birds are fine. The 2 dozen chicks of my own eggs and one dozen Goldfeather eggs hatched the day the last shipped in chicks arrived are all dead.

That is so awful. You started out with about 60 chicks, right? When did they start dying?

I made a post of the timeline above. But each batch I ordered began dying within 24hrs and chicks from here followed shortly thereafter.

Oops, my bad, I see that now. Started dying off in August.

That is so crazy....I wonder what the reports will show. Even if they have an answer for you today, if they do culture and sensitivity of the tissue samples, that takes additional days to grow out on culture medium, so it may be a a little while before you actually find out the causative organism. But they will at least have a preliminary report.
