I really do miss her very much (probably more than I should)

She was a wonderful friend and full of personality. There should NEVER be a time limit on how long you miss a good friend, nor should there be a limit on how much you miss the friend.

It's the first picture I've seen of her. She was a beautiful and striking hen, white ear lobes and big wattles gave her a unique look.

Thanks everyone again for all the reactions and advice. It has really helped me to see things more clearly. And sorry for trolling the thread with sad posts. Caramel isn't doing better but she's hanging on. I'll update when we get back from the vet tomorrow.

For now i'll pay a pony Sunday tax!

This is a photo from 1992 of my teenage crush Quincey, with teenage me. He's the horse I was leasing when I stayed in California for a year, against french lessons and baby sitting for the stable owner's son. He was a much more delicate horse than those I rode before and he taught me a lot.

I am on the one hand, glad Caramel is still hangiyy in, but then on the other, sad she and you have to go through this. We are all here to support you.

It’s a good day! Seems the pic of my departed hen Beethoven-Hen (RIP) has been chosen, for the BYC caption contest. I’m very proud that she’s still making her mark here in the club, (even in death)

I hate to break it to you Marie, but each time you master something, then a new 'thing' comes out and you are even further behind.
I have given up on ever becoming competent at this stuff!
Case in point, I have mastered emojis. I even like emojis! So just as I am celebrating that, memes(?) become a thing. I have no idea how to do those! I can't even do multi-quote.

When it rains it pours! I just posted this thread in the emergency forum and would be very grateful if some of you would give me their opinion, I'm feeling emotional and overwhelmed and not sure I'm thinking very clearly. My question is whether or not attempt a 1h45 drive for a visit to the vet.
