Yes that is what once was their clubhouse. They have not been able to hangout over there for several days. Instead to their horror they have to hang out with the adults and behave as the adults think they should. I still do not know which one is laying. Who ever it is is laying on the hay. They are a group though, all 6 sitting on the hay bale that will eventually have that egg on it. They all also join in on the egg songs, even when the big girls announce they laid a egg they sing along.Wow is that the dry wash were the youngsters were hanging out a few weeks back ?! To stay cool ? The water is moving very fast![]()
He’s fantastic looking! I’m hoping that he gets all fixed up and gets comfortable in his new digs!
Nope she definitely will not have to add chicks herself. At some point she is going to have to go out of town. One of her sneaky broody girls will take that opportunity to hide in a hay pile and convince the other girls to donate a few eggs to her cause. More points given to the sneaky girl if her spot is in a place that is difficult or near impossible for Kelly to reach to steal the eggs. 3 weeks later we will have a happy momma and a smitten and exasperated Kelly.Well with the broody little gals she has sitting on golf balls together and adding this little dude in… I’m thinking that nature and chicken math are going to take their usual course!

Nope! Not gonna happen! My mum is definitely not going to let that happen when I am out west hahahaha!! Better not anyways!Nope she definitely will not have to add chicks herself. Although the option would be there if i needed to get more laying hens in the future…. But I am thinking that ordering sexed chicks from Freys would be easier!!Nope she definitely will not have to add chicks herself. At some point she is going to have to go out of town. Oh do not ever say "Not going to happen" when and where a broody hen is concerned. That is the ultimate "hold my beer" challenge to those girls. Ask me how I know this. I was adamant Momma Hen was not going to hatch any more chicks last year, let alone any of her own. I ate my words when she shows up with 10 of her own babies after thinking her lost to a predator.Nope! Not gonna happen! My mum is definitely not going to let that happen when I am out west hahahaha!! Better not anyways!
It’s all great if they are hens but I don’t want to have to deal with more Roos! That about broke my heart!
Yes agreed, I am likely to wait til Wednesday to drop up to the Vet, I might let him free range at the house when I get home tomorrow- if I can catch him!!! I certainly don’t want him anywhere near the gals.Wait a bit, at least until after the vet. The vet might do it as part of the visit, and the stress of that on top of everything else may be too much for him to handle at the moment.
