There you go, you don’t need chicks! ;) :D
Hahaha, nope got my hands full with him.

This all happened way too fast though! I know I said I was thinking of a Roo for a while now, but this little guy just sort of leapt out at me. And he is a bit past the silly stage so he should fit in ok.

That's a fantastic idea! An old gym mat would have some give to it and still be cleanable.
I’ve got two folded-up towels under the poop tarp as Tegan, my big heavy red Faverolle, insists on getting up in the lower roost. She doesn’t use the one I made her so eventually I will remove it.

Branch is hands down the best rooster I have ever had with chicks. The minute Bunny decided she was done with George and Twiggy he stepped up and took over baby sitting duty.
Being a dad is hard work, he does not know who needs him more. The pre-teens or Momma and her newborns.
He’s adorable! What a hands-on dad! :love

I think what I will do is put a 1x6 plank on the lower roosts to make it easier for the silkies to hop back down.

Wow is that the dry wash were the youngsters were hanging out a few weeks back ?! To stay cool ? The water is moving very fast 😳

Need to give him a hair cut, I startled him twice poor little dude!
Wait a bit, at least until after the vet. The vet might do it as part of the visit, and the stress of that on top of everything else may be too much for him to handle at the moment.
