I actually do want two Roos actually truth be told any of them are welcome to stay as long as they can be gentleman. I would like free range them once they are full grown so roos are essential to my plans. A FCM roo would be my first choice to keep for breeding. That said any boys I keep are going to have settle after adolescence and be gentleman.

On the other note there is no way to make up for a loss like that :( I am glad they are to try and aren’t remorseless hopefully they will do better going forward.
The adolescent age will TRY YOUR PATIENCE! :he
:he :he :duc :he :duc :barnie

Awesome retriever 😁
Navi Princessa is an awesome dog❤

I am at a lose as to what to say, losing your dada, is such a terrible thing and I know that sorrow unfortunately. The gesture of his hat is so lovely and brought tears to my eyes. (Hugs).

Also I applaud your actions towards the dog, many would not have been so generous in caring for the animal but would have either turned it over to animal control, or worse. I hope you impressed very strongly the seriousness of the killing of your pets and it’s my hope this person will somehow pay you back (although no money can pay for the lose of a loved pet).

I am so happy that your chickies can once again roam about safety and that you had Branch there to soothe some of your sorrows. There is an old saying ‘there is nothing so good for the inside of a man, as the outside of a horse’. This can be applied to any of our pets, whether dog, cat, horse, or chicken…. Any pet can and will be a member of one’s family.

Sounds like your grandmother knows who is most important in her life also. I am glad she has your family to turn to for assistance and can only hope that this will be a quiet and non-dramatic stay.

Lastly for Rosie: you’re an awesome young lady! That’s a heavy class load - don’t be afraid to ask for help. And I hope your arm/shoulder is healing well 🥰 I look forward to hearing about your riding exploits soon!

Ok Rebecca, I am glad you’re back, have a good evening, I am off to do evening chores….. 💕
:goodpost:
Very well said.

Hopefully no one minds all chick pics. Ive been taking them out into the trampoline in pairs to give em a view of the world outside the pack n play for about 10-15 minutes at time. Here are my two penguin chicks one is significantly larger then then the other could be Moss Eggers could be French Copper Maran. My guess is one of each due the size difference and slightly different combs. I also suspect roos. They are 20 days old today. Larger ones name is Season smaller Night.
I love all the chick pics, glad Im not the only one that says that lol.

Near Death Experience

I almost lost either Aurora or Sydney this afternoon.

That's right, one or the other was dead meat but somehow Aurora saved them both.

Here's what happened.

It was really hot today and for once I did not have any major tasks I needed to do this weekend so I decided to take a swim in the pool. The girls were hiding in the shade under the magnolia tree and in Hattie House.

I swam over to the skimmer and decided to empty it for the ladies. Aurora and Sydney came trucking over and started to dig through the leaves for bugs. They were not more than 24 inches from me.

Not only was I standing there half out of the pool, so was my daughter as she stood next to me as we watched them dig for bugs.

All of a sudden Aurora squawks and takes off. When Aurora moves she is going so fast she is using her wings to go faster. Sydney was head down when Aurora's wing hit her and startled she jumped straight up and took flight.

Jumping straight up likely saved her life as a very large Cooper's Hawk swooped past where Aurora had been and underneath Sydney.

That right, UNDERNEATH Sydney!

The hawk was so close to me I still can't figure out how its wing did not touch me! Here is an illustration.

If the hawk has successfully hit one of the ladies, I could have reached out and strangled it with my bear hands. I likely would have.

I did not think I had to worry about a Cooper's Hawk trying to take out one of the big ladies. I figured they were too large for a Cooper's Hawk. Sure a Polish or Glynda. Aurora is a big lady. Similar is size to the Cooper's.

This hawk is a super threat to the girls and I don't know what to do. I had no chance of shooting it today. Éowyn was in the house at the time. Maybe her presence would have dissuaded the hawk because he would see her as a threat. It certainly has no fear of me at all.

After this attack the hawk did not return today. (I think I need to give the hawk a name. Maybe Satan.... 🤔)

I am locking the girls in all day tomorrow but that is also not the answer. I'm truly scared for them.

Scary is right! I don’t know what to do either. The hawk knows now, that there’s prey to be had. :( Maybe locking them up is the better of ideas until “Satan” loses interest!:idunno And hopefully goes away.

Is this Horus or Hector? He is soooo handsome....I'm hoping he is the good one, not one of the hormone brats. :love :love :love
That is neither. That's the good boy, Whiskey.

This is the lineup of brat boys (Although Hector seems to he settling a bit, tidbitting more and giving up when a lady squawks rather than persisting)
(These pics up to a week out of date)

Hector, 23.5 weeks

Horus, 15.5 weeks

Kren, 15.5 weeks and the worst brat, not by much, though
