Poor Sad Dorothy

She isn’t looking very chipper but I told her in a few weeks she will be resplendent again ❤️

Oh my I got stacked by 7 baby chicks. Sorry forgot my phone for pics. The sweet girl made her way to my shoulder. She used my boob for a step lol. They are in the fugly stage one girl just sits she is going through that mini molt and not liking it. She finally came out after I talked to her for a few minutes. Boy those little beaks are sharp! Well I think I have some photos on here from 2 days ago. I take tons don’t post them all

That does not look comfortable. Poor Dorothy! I have never had one of my hens with such big bare patches.
This all happened in about 3 or 4 days! The barn is full of feathers 😳

Sophia had a bad molt like this last year - at least Dorothy is eating.

And of course after tonight it’s going down to the freezing point over night. She is hanging out in her nest box thankfully.
