Gucci passed away this afternoon. We have been fighting to keep her going since the 19th. Today she decided she did not want to fight anymore.

I will bring everyone up to speed on everything that went on later. For now, there are 7 hens in residence at Fluffy Butt Acres.

We don’t know what is wrong with Chaco yet, but the veterinarian is taking her to the hospital ranch today. I’m having her feed tested and the water supply in the area tested also.

I have never seen any of the other hens approach him, that was Blanche taking a peck at him and I never saw any of them do that!

But Marty, she can do no wrong in his eyes

I have not seen him breeding her, in fact only ever seen him breeding twice, once with Penelope and once with I think it was Whiskers.

There is no drama with him, and I only saw him be mean once to Dorothy when she was naked in her molt. He got a good yelling at from me!

He seems very docile for a Roo and if he approaches the hens and they walk away he just walks away also.

Only in the morning does he do any rooster moves - he will do his dropped wing dance and herd them, but then once they are all out he goes and does his thing eating and what not.

He is the complete opposite of Pangoo!

I'm so sorry to hear this! I"m glad you have Glynda and the others to warm your heart a bit. You have already had a very rough year, and certainly didn't deserve to lose another one, especially so young.

I hope she didn't suffer much, and that whatever it was,, it wasn't contagious.

I am so sorry. I know you fought for her since she was a young chick with mobility issues. I had hoped she had turned a corner and was going to thrive. This has been a terrible year for a lot of members on this thread. I hope the heartache will be over for a long time, there just has been too many losses.
