I thought that once Marty went Broody she would move up the ranks - but it wasn't till Mr P showed up... go figure!

Thought about renaming her Jolene (song for reference for those that care to know why).

That song was on the radio at work yesterday. At least 2 of us were singing along. Then the discussion came up about country music queens. And someone (idiot) suggested Lady Gaga (pokerface was on). She isn't country...PERIOD. general debate between Dolly and Reba.....until I settled it: Patsy.

The girls really love me this morning I thought they were all gonna jump on me so I got them a big bowl of scratch and bugs

I need:
1 Broody Hen
2 Grown Roosters with a grove
3 Hens that lay
4 eggs to fertilize
5 and many baby chick

Only need one rooster - otherwise they will be fighting

I go out walking after midnight, out in the moonlight..... dee dumde dum dedum dede...

My next brood of chicks are gonna be Patsy, Loretta, Dolly, etc

Depends upon the roos and the housing situation.

True - but most of us don't have the setup for multiple guys.

If I did I would have a really cute little Silkie roo - I would call him Buster

I take it you throw it into the woodstove/fireplace to heat it? Those pavers are perfect! I have about a 100 here hahaha.

Unfortunately, we don't have a woodstove yet. Working on getting a chimney & stove. I put them in the oven.

These are for @RoyalChick....'her' chicks

You can see a hint of brown in one, the other has brown on the feather shaft. That is why they are both 'blackish'. They both have a fair amount of iridescence.

That was Buttercup that is swooped at, I was just sitting there and swoosh, it flew over my head and Buttercup was in that gateway, it swooped down and at the last minute did a twist and swooped up and flew off. I don’t think it saw me on the chair and that’s why it swooped and twisted away not catching her, or maybe it thought Buttercup was too big, I am sure one of the Silkies would be gone.

That is the end of roaming for those guys - it's too hard on my old body
