Hello FBA I hope you are all doing all right and thinking especially of @RoyalChick today. With all the stress and worry of the last days and the grief coming down now, you must be exhausted. It was indeed a nice surprise to see Dottie and Minnie on the front cover, and appropriate for tuefer Tuesday. My thoughts are with you and Diana and Bernie.

I'm getting back a bit late : we don't own the land. It belongs to my stepfather and his sister. They let us live here for free, but it will never be ours. There is about 8 acres, but a good third is so steep or bushy the only thing you can do is put goats or donkeys. We may have barely been able to get the money to buy something like it, I'm not sure of it's worth, but anyway people here just don't sell land. The cultural reason is that they will keep land and houses in the family, even if it means everything turning to ruins and no one taking care of it. And also, most properties are under the legal status we call "indivision" which means they have not been shared in parts between the heirs, and sometimes this can go back to three or four generations, when people here had ten kids. So you would need to get the approval of hundreds of descendants to sell which is impossible.
Lovely pictures as always - really love the looks of Lea and Piou-piou!
Sorry about Canelle, and thank you for thinking of me. I am fine, she really did wait until I had come to terms with it all - so I am smiling at all the lovely pictures I have of her and remembering all the crazy things she got up to. She really was a character. I forgot the day when her walk took her into the garage, or when she came knocking on the window to my study while I was on a conference call (before I retired).
I am turning my attention to Diana and Bernadette. I gave them tuna and rice which I thought would be a hit. Turns out Diana does not like tuna! Bernie had a go but then saw Diana was not interested and went along with her instead.
Fascinating about the land rules. It reminds me of a lovely story about my grandmother and her older sister. But that can wait for another day.

It is Twofer-Tuesday
And here are the BFFs Maggie and Diana. I hope Diana doesn’t take Maggie’s loss to hard. She does seem to get on OK with Bernadette.

My other 2fer contribution for today is POW! Check it out - I am absurdly proud of it!
POW is marvelous. So they don't pick a picture from past week's contribution?

They could take one from any time. I once had a POW that I had submitted about 6 months prior.

You have many many great chickens, but I am there with your mom, Butter is a special one. I remember her getting badly injured, almost not able to make it, but against all odds, went through the tough times like a champion.

Wish I could cuddle and kiss this little cutie.
She would be all for the cuddles and kisses, but she is no light weight. Butter is a heavy girl. You would also have to take the insult that everyone but mom gets if you touch her. Once you are done expect a good shake and glare for daring to mess up her feathers. She does not do it to mom.
