Relaxing - having a cuppa tea - all is right with the world, the chickies are happy, life is pretty good

Ahhhhh a nice cuppa tea - ggaaaahhhh ahhhhgggaaa what the OMG I swallowed a fly! I SWALLOWED A FLY

I am not a chicken I don’t eat flies! Where has that fly landed? On horses poo? On chicken poo? Worse on rat poo???

Yup, I usually put a tissue or paper towel over my tea here in the feed room, but Mr P crowing had me all eggcited and I dropped the mug on the desk grabbed my phone

Then went back later for a nice hearty sip of my tea extra protein I guess!

As soon as I took a sip and swallowed - and I couldn’t stop teeheehee

Saw on radar the rain stretching all the way from the Gulf of Mexico right up to James Bay!

Hello FBA I hope you are all doing all right and thinking especially of @RoyalChick today. With all the stress and worry of the last days and the grief coming down now, you must be exhausted. It was indeed a nice surprise to see Dottie and Minnie on the front cover, and appropriate for tuefer Tuesday. My thoughts are with you and Diana and Bernie.

@rural mouse & @ManueB : I'm a bit jealous every time you show me your gorgeous chickens AND beautiful scenery... I worked long & hard to be able to get my current place...and it is only 6 acres, an L shaped lot with 4 acres 'square' by the house, and a 2 acre long rectangle that goes behind 2 houses - 2, 2acres lots cavred out by a past owner for their 2 kids . (I really wanted 10-15 acres min.) But I try to live vicariously through both of you with the expansive views. You have to already be wealthy to afford

I'm getting back a bit late : we don't own the land. It belongs to my stepfather and his sister. They let us live here for free, but it will never be ours. There is about 8 acres, but a good third is so steep or bushy the only thing you can do is put goats or donkeys. We may have barely been able to get the money to buy something like it, I'm not sure of it's worth, but anyway people here just don't sell land. The cultural reason is that they will keep land and houses in the family, even if it means everything turning to ruins and no one taking care of it. And also, most properties are under the legal status we call "indivision" which means they have not been shared in parts between the heirs, and sometimes this can go back to three or four generations, when people here had ten kids. So you would need to get the approval of hundreds of descendants to sell which is impossible.

They very much were. That makes me happy to see.

As you can see there is a reason Butter has long been mom's favorite and in her eyes could get away with murder. Mom will let that hen do anything, except go broody. She got to thinking and decided if she ever got inclined she would have to break her. She is worried after her injury she may have arthritis that we do not know about and is afraid sitting for 21 days would not be good for her. Mom will also do head counts at night, but in truth she is only checking to make sure her favorite hen is in her favorite spot. You are also right the mugshots would make great memes. But I am not good at making those.

You have many many great chickens, but I am there with your mom, Butter is a special one. I remember her getting badly injured, almost not able to make it, but against all odds, went through the tough times like a champion.

Wish I could cuddle and kiss this little cutie.
