My barnyard mutts lay small eggs no bigger than my silkie eggs - but maybe my silkies lay big eggs! I must weight them… BRB…

Blanche - 2.5 oz
Misty - 2oz
Whiskers - 1.8oz
Rose - 1.9oz
Marty - 1.3oz
🥰

EDIT: Fluffy started back laying today with a 1.8oz egg! Big egg for little chicken!
Your girls are laying bigger eggs then you think. I pulled up a usda chart to size eggs. According to it, Peewee eggs are 1.25 oz. Small start at 1.5 oz, silkies are supposed to lay in that range. Medium starts at 1.75 oz. Large, 2.0 oz. x-large 2.25 oz and jumbo's are 2.5 or bigger.

I knew something was wrong! Only one egg a day from them (that’s total) then I find these under the porch. :barnie
Why can’t they just lay in the coop as I requested? Only seven, are good to consume. 😩 679CECDF-71D6-427E-ABF9-B5EDDDE4D957.jpeg

Those are respectable sized eggs.
In most of my baking recipes I am looking for roughly a 2oz egg. If it is way bigger the mix can get out of whack.

My paint job by lantern was not as good as I had hoped. 😆 Another coat of paint is in order for certain.
No worries, it should have at least 2 coats anyways!;)
I took off the bottom board and glued it this morning. Everything is all set for now.
Is that all that will be on the roof? Just painted plywood? I can't believe it lasted as long as it did - do you repaint every year? WOW, I would never have thought that alone would be waterproof & not eventually let water seep into the wood. :idunnojust goes to show how little I really understand about construction and vapor/water barriers:idunno

I'm so glad for you that that task is done! I'm still amazed at how much you accomplished in one day!!!:woot
