Nope, save the tattoo for Betty!:lau

Well, maybe a flower or something on her leg just above her foot??
I could see something like this encircling her leg like an anklet:
Blossom Gazing Temporary Tattoo

Betty, though, needs a hard core tattoo on her wing/shoulder
Hmmmm...how about this one for Betty???
Grateful dead? Gezz. Betty is a sweetheart, not a roady

You know the snowy cold we've been getting. Last couple of days have been clear and cold, warming up to @29F. I've opened the coop so they can go out of they choose. NONE have gone outside. Those growing feathers are staying pretty still. Thing had hunkered into the shavings in one of the boxes. She and Pear have been tailless. Pear had been venturing forth (before the snow), but I haven't caught her on the ground in the last couple. Sometimes Thing is in the box directly above the heat, sometimes down at the other end. Those moulting hard are enforcing a larger personal bubble inspite of the cold. I would set up a heat source so she can go warm up, keep food handy and add on rotation a variety of "treats" (nutritional food suppliments covering a wide spectrum of vit/minerals). If she has a warmer location, she will use it if she needs it. As for foods, keep rotating, make note of what she will eat (keep the list for next year, cross ref nutrients). :hugs

Thanks. I have rigged up so I can have a flat panel heater facing their main roost. I will set that up before it gets cold.
Still warm, actually hot, for the next 24 hours.
In terms of food I haven’t found anything yet but I will keep trying.
She is foraging and seems keen on grass and plantain leaves. Also little wriggly worms.
It is getting close to dusk when the foxes are most active so I am sitting out with her so she can tank up on whatever it is she finds.
She still has a fluffy butt and for the wattle-lovers on this thread she isn’t doing too badly.

That is so interesting that they are 'drawn' to that auxiliary coop.

Guess you can't put it away, now...you'll have to shovel/snowblow a path to that from the main coop this winter...it will be their 'clubhouse' :lau

Awww, they are such good helpers! Love watching chickens really get into scratching when their butts start goin' back and forth, lol 🐓❤️ yours are all lovely!
I’m trapped here, if I try to leave, they pop my car’s tires. I’ve tried to escape and get help, but they have a cellphone too, and convince authorities that everything is okay. I’m lucky to be alive and able to use this iPhone. So please help, send the Marines!
