And, Peep tried mating for the first time tonight!

So Peep is my tiny Japanese bantam rooster that we put under a broody hen named Isbe (the chicks aren’t hers, she thought they were though.) Isbe is the most angry, the biggest out of our flock, and super rude. So who did Peep go for? Of course he had 4 other chickens of his size, one laying eggs that would submit to him, but who did he choose? Isbe, thats of course the only logical solution.
He’s only a fraction of her size, so he bent down and leaped in the air and grabbed onto her back, held on while she swung him around trying to shake him off.

Rosie has joined the winter molters party
Her foot is still bothering her, we did a good 20 min soak today, she fid much better in the sink than the one footed lap soak. Looked and took photos, don't see a bumble, no visible spot or wounds, but her toe is definitely swollen. It was soft to the touch. View attachment 3324018

She is a pretty lady. I hope she is feeling better soon.

My oh my. Today was the very first day of the snow season. I had to bring Grandma inside once again because she just wanted people food. This morning was a whopping 28 F. Then in the afternoon, it was 44 F. Then past 11:30, there came a miracle: SNOW! It eventually stopped around 3 p.m. And then when I went to go check on the chickens and the cat, it started snowing again. While it looked like snow, it looked like the icy rain was combined with snow. Eventually, when I went inside, it was confirmed that it was mostly snow combined with icy rain. How is it over there in Hershey, Bob?

Grandma: Mirror mirror on the oven. Will there be one foot of snow or a dozen? I hope my feet don't snap or break. (But I mostly sit anyway) or I'll be coated in Shake 'n Bake.

That won't be a problem. Grandma will never be Shaked and Baked.
I posted several times on the snow today. I'm not a happy as you are. The road was even covered in snow for a while.

Which is part of the fun working out there!

But I am worried about the drive, I don’t have daylight hours on my side, and it’s waaaaay up there.

But if I need to pull over then I will pull over for the night.

I will miss my horses and chickies and family. But once I get there I will settle in.
Will you have good internet service there?

Safely here at College Station. Only problem I had was iced wings at altitude. I’m good now though
So how long are you here in TX for? I bet your chooks miss you.

Good I was wondering! And worries I hadn’t heard from you. Scary with the iced wings, did you drop altitude to help melt it? I bet it was chilly at 8k’. Ok glad your safety on thee ground 🥰
