Peanut's eyes look good today. I did think this morning that a couple of days ago I saw a bit of something that looked like a walnut bit on her nose. Not before or since then and none today. She is molting badly though, tons of fluff feathers were coming out all over the place when I handled her for her Baytril dose. Have pm'd Bob.
Going out again with salt free sardines for everyone!

Awww, Peanut. Rough timing for a molt. Glad her eyes are looking better, though! She looks so much like my Ruby in the face!

Ruby must have had laying hormones in the first picture. I don’t remember her comb and waddles being so fleshy most of the time.

The Teens think its to cold 🥶 to go out in the run but demand the pop door be opened anyway. 🤦‍♀️ Picky chickens!

While I was out opening said door this morning, I spent a few minutes in the coop with them and what do I see right at my feet…. Oreo doing that awkward wing dance for Ginger and then making an awkward grab for her neck… he missed her entirely and got yelled at for his attempt by Ginger. Poor sweet Oreo started a few steps to give chase but decided better of it which was likely a wise decision seeing as how he is outnumbered 10:1. I tried not to laugh but failed.

Score from the BidFTA auction!

Glynda does not stop moving often but when she does she will hang out with her bestie Lady Featherington.

We may just have an egg coming as well. I have now caught Glynda checking out the nest box in Hattie House several times. So today I put fresh straw in those nest boxes and the nest boxes in Cluckle Hut.

This upsets me some as it makes it more likely that the egg will be white. Of course there is nothing I can do about it at this point.
Oh gosh. I am so far behind, I don’t even know what Hattie House is. Is it the little prefab coop painted the color of the Chucklehut that I’ve seen in some photos?

Well, guys, I’m glad I got to pop in briefly. However, I have a 7:30 AM meeting tomorrow and we have a harvest festival at work. I’m making the stuffing and green bean casserole and we don’t have a proper kitchen at work. That means early tomorrow morning I need to load my countertop oven, my electric skillet, all my supplies, etc. into my car. Green bean casserole is assembled except for the crunchy onions on top. Stuffing is mostly done… I just need to add the bread and the broth. The whole office is gonna smell great tomorrow!

On the note of chickens, something is scaring mine again. This weekend they were afraid to come out. Tuesdays are the days that I pick up my daughter from college and drive her home on my lunch hour. Today I took a quick peek at the chickens, and all eight of them were inside the coop in the middle of the day. So strange. Something is definitely freaking them out. Poor babies. I’m glad Thanksgiving week is coming. I think I might take the whole week off.

Do you think a snake? Or dog or something? Is there a camera you can check? Bob had the hawk swoop his backyard this week past.

A pair of red shouldered hawks have been stalking the yard even when I’m out there, so it could be them. I have been hearing a red tailed hawk, as well. I never see it, but they have a very distinctive call. It could be a fox. It could really be anything. We have an abundance of predators.

Well at least yours are smart to take cover, half of mine are oblivious to danger!!
