I survived the water survival qualifications today. Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers. 😊

I don't know how to link videos or I'd attach a HUET video from YouTube.
That’s awesome - I never had any doubts 🥰

I received my D&A clearance letter so I am good to go Friday. Hope that darn horse gets on the trailer tomorrow!

Quail are not set in stone. I have plans, silkie plans next year that I will not budge on. That said, lets just say dad opened up a can of worms with his quail talk. I've never really sat down and researched them. I really want to know what I'm in for before I jump the gun and get them. I will say with my other feathered friends want list quail are possibly the only thing I could be set up to realistically have. I want a emu, not enough space or proper fencing. I also would not mind a turkey, but I see it eating the neighbors. Rosie wants a goose, too messy and again, eating the neighbors. Quails are tiny, and possibly easily contained and I have to check but I think fairly quiet.
Peacocks - they are awesome! Where I bring the horses they have a bunch 😊

Some roost changes

I did some changes today, put in wider roosts and a set of steps for the silkies.

I laid 1x6 planks on top of the 2x4 roosts,

Next I removed the lowest step

Created a set of steps and Dry fit them, I had to raise the lower step a bit then dry fit again.

Then put them in place, they can be easily removed to clean the hen house.

There was a bit of drama going to bed, seems they were missing the side roost, but they did use the steps!!
