I wonder if hens that spend lots of time broody lay longer into the winter?

Well Marty was only broody once in the summer, but my other Silkies were ridiculous being broody!

I am only guessing it’s Marty because she is down in the bottom nest box each morning. My mum is not diligent in finding out who laid the egg, to her it’s just an egg

Soooo much Fluff!!!

We have more voles outside, but it is always mice that get into the house! I do see the little footprints in the snow in the run, so yes they're there. I wouldn't mind if it took care of some of those! It's really a gorgeous owl.

There a wildlife photography thread on here. I got a lot of tips there when I first found BYC. Its not a contest but these photos are outstanding! I would post them there I bet they would love them almost as much as we do!

He got it tonight. He may feel bad, but he is a nightmare to medicate. I would rather syringe medicate every single chicken I have, and that includes chasing and catching Momma hen then give him meds. He was subdued all day long until it was time to take his medicine. No wonder he was lazy, he was saving all his energy to avoid taking it.

Ya I have one like that - thankfully my glutinous pig horses will eat Bute in their grain. So I just dose them that way!

Speaking of Momma - how are those adorable little fluff balls doing? Bet they are growing like weeds! Might needs some updated photos of them soon
