We have more voles outside, but it is always mice that get into the house! I do see the little footprints in the snow in the run, so yes they're there. I wouldn't mind if it took care of some of those! It's really a gorgeous owl.
My husband took another photo of it today:

Wow!!! I don’t know which is more beautiful, the owl or the photo!

Fairs, rodeo’s and auctions are all around us here. We even host the international agricultural trade show and farm show in Tulare, near me.
College recruiting is big here. And it’s an Air Force town.
Our little Main Street has numerous parades, flag day, chili cook offs, and every holiday imaginable. There’s plenty to do around here (and I’m still bored) :barnie

That's because her feathers are sleek and not Fluffy. That's all chicken you see.

Well, large or not, she is one lovely LADY!

It is too bad she is even more reserved since Aurora became Queen, but, unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me :(

I know Hattie fought Aurora hard, but I never really saw her as top girl - she is too sweet and mellow. I pictured Sydney as moving up the ladder...but not anymore... with your new additions, I suspect it will be Glynda, with Lady F as her second. Maybe at times, now, they can run interference between Phyllis & Betty....kind of like now where they are allowing Betty to roost with them with no issues. :)

Now ratios! This math talk has to stop. My head hurts! 😫

Yes I fully agree this ratio talk has to stop. At least those with my name and Rooster/ Hen ratio attached. I have to stop dragging my feet and get rid of some of the young boys. Kit and Kat found their voices in the last few days. It is only a matter of time before the 8 that hatched in October find theirs as well.

This is how I read it as well. Aurora is the right chicken to lead this bunch although it should have been Maleficent, may she rest in peace. Sansa would have been the next leader had she survived. If Sydney would not fight to hold her position in front of Sansa I can't see her fighting for top hen. No one is going to let Phyllis out Betty lead so that leaves Glynda and Lady F. They are both in tight with Aurora already.
