Silver spangled Hamburg will be similar on a silver ground, sized like Cheetah (who is smaller than Thing, just a tiny bit)They are gorgeous I love his speckled chest![]()
So beautiful!!!Whiskey is a Bitsa: buff orpington, Easter Eggers and wyandotte or more EE x buff. And yes, frostbite bit him hard. This is Whiskey's Pop (Kren, Pippa, and Maizie too).View attachment 3392723
Whiskey before frostbite and I think he's grown some moreView attachment 3392726

Yes, there is still time. I really like the brooder plate idea if you can keep it running. Maybe have some single use warmers on hand as plan B.You've got time. Test the hand warmers. Use a digital thermometer to check the temp coming off of them. Put them in a sock and check the temp (thinking to keep the babies from picking it apart). There are pads large enough for keeping your torso warm. Test those too.
And, @Ponypoor, maybe have two methods on board so if one fails you have a plan B.You've got time. Test the hand warmers. Use a digital thermometer to check the temp coming off of them. And that the chicks are able to move away (that applies to any heat source). They do get QUITE hot. Definitely make sure they are covered with thick cloth if using with chicks.
Jinx! And, @Ponypoor, maybe have two methods on board so if one fails you have a plan B.
