The drawer is a great ideaFed the chooks their treats BSFL and cracked corn. I have a rectangular drawer in the coop i use as a treat troft. They all like to eat in there now. The young one are training everyone else then I collected 9 eggs.
Me too haven’t had one in ages.I love cream sickles! Now I want some.
TYY, I told my hubby let me look before he throws away stuff because it might go in the coop or chicken run and be used by the chickens. I salvage a lot.The drawer is a great idea![]()
Those are great photos!I actually managed to get a few half decent chicken pictures Creamsicle’s beard is fully in and of course Sammy is always happy to pose for me.View attachment 3403880View attachment 3403883
My top hen refuses to be touched. My next to last likes lap time.Yeah, Flash likes lap time once in awhile, but with the alpha and the beta already there, she didn’t chance getting pummeled.
Anyone else notice the higher ranked birds get more lap time?
Mine are opposite, top hens like lap time and the bottom ones hate to be touched. My top hen refuses to be touched. My next to last likes lap time.

Thats smartTYY, I told my hubby let me look before he throws away stuff because it might go in the coop or chicken run and be used by the chickens. I salvage a lot.
I love you found all that stuff and used it especially smart on the marble. I used brick around mine. We are doubling the size of the run next so I will be using a lot of useless junk in there lol.Thats smart
My whole coop is mostly comprised of up-cycled stuff. When we bought this home the owners were moving to Florida and left a bunch of their things here. Although, it was mostly true junk some things have been useful. The run door was just here brand new never installed. I also found a bannister I am determining to make into roost bar when I redo the coop interior, it would be perfect. There was slabs of marble from something they must have done and they were odd sizes but thick. Its buried now along the edges of the coop as well as huge piece of metal nothing is coming up under there! All of it helped to significantly defray the cost of turning the shed into a coop.![]()
I managed to salvage a whole bunch of doors and windows and that is what led to the Chicken Palace being ‘full height’.Thats smart
