What do you mean there is another chicken on this roost?
I don’t see any other chickens here.

She might actually be hot in that corner by the warmer. That pose is so bilateral - not using that term right probably - but one side is not different from the other, at least in this picture, which would be really odd if she injured herself. Did she hit her belly hard?

What a lovely flock. Very pretty but also so calm and well behaved. No pecking, no yelling! I feel they may need to do instructional videos for some of our other flocks!
Thank you for sharing them with us.
The clearly do not understand "The Way of the Chicken"

Roosting drives me nuts! :he

It seems to be different every night.

Be careful of your headlines. “I lost Phyllis tonight” scared me. My blood pressure jumped up higher than RC’s roosts!

Me too actually.

You should never bolded that heading. My heart dropped when I saw that before I read on.
Me too.
Chickens as pets is not at all like dogs or cats as pets for me. Things usually don’t take a hard left turn so easily or as much with cats and dogs. Prey vs predator species, much less predators for cats and dogs? Better vet care - annual shots against disease, etc? Maybe lots of loss is a usual thing with a farming life, which I’ve not experienced before? There’s wonder and joy in caring for them and the relationship we have, but there’s disaster possible right around the corner. It’s hard lessons, and just bad luck too, no lesson to be learned (except that there’s bad luck) and we’re all on the lookout for it.

It was time for their midday bread snack. Actually I was late and Bubba let me know it by crowing at the back door. I took out the camera and got some pictures and video's of everyone. Here are the video's
Branch spotted the hawks that are nesting on the other side of my house. If they start flying towards the yard he has a different growl that sends the whole flock running for cover. As far as aerial predators go, he seems to be the one who spots them first.
Come back Chiquita, you missed a worm. One of the chicks ran back to eat it when I stopped filming.
Both momma's know the best place to rest is under the watchful eye's of uncle Dirt.
Such wonderful videos!

Prepare yourself, you have never seen such wing to body ratios. There is a lot of wrong to grow. Their wings will extend past their body when they are fully grown.
