I now have 4 abnormal poops.
One before the photo one which was normal with white creamy stuff on top.
The monstrosity I posted.
And now two totally liquid ones.
She is drinking a lot. Everyone is because of the lovely wild water from melting snow but maybe her more than the others.
Could be she is dehydrated from producing icky liquid poos or a sign of something going on.
I hate that she sleeps 11’ up in the air so I can’t really feel her crop first thing. But she is absolutely not behaving like an I’ll chicken so I will chew on my nails anxiously and watch closely.

I'm sure that's what I would do. It is possible she ate something unsavory and it is exciting her body.

Great video! I was a bit slow on the uptake and spent the first part mystified why you weren’t being mobbed by chickens given you had all that food!

Me too! then I figured it out as she was walking and I could see the door was closed

The Marshmallows are either now 5 weeks old or 6 weeks old, will have to go back and check on the date I gave them to Chiquita. They are starting to look and maybe to a extent act like leghorns. They are going through what I can only describe as a fear phase at the moment where they get startled easily. Something startles them, and that fight or flight reflex kicks in and they can move fast. I like this, they are becoming more alert and aware of their surroundings. Unfortunately sudden movements from me can trigger this response as well. We all know that term that we are not allowed to refer to them, they are leaning towards that and I am perfectly ok with it. I can see it serving them very well since they are allowed to free range. Their alertness is already almost on a Momma Hen level. When they are out of the coop, it gets triggered and they are gone in a split second and they can also go "UP" if needed not just hide for cover under something. I just went out and took some pictures and videos. I'll put the pictures on this post and then upload the video's for the next one.

They are also finally starting to grow in their combs. I am crossing my fingers that at least one gets a floppy comb, just one.

Alarming poop - any thoughts?
Eli produced this just now. Overnight poop was normal and she is running around eating and digging as normal.
It is sort of off-white and gelatinous. Only one and a half episodes - earlier she produced a healthy poop with more of this stuff on top.

Are you sure that is even a 'poop'??? There are no real white urates, nor any fecal matter. SO whatever it is, I'm hoping it is a 'sloughing off' of something, not an issue.

But darned if I have any real idea!

I'm sure that's what I would do. It is possible she ate something unsavory and it is exciting her body.

Just randomly I managed to grab a hold of her and felt her crop. It feels like I would expect watching her drink so much - lots of liquid.
I will put some grit out in new places and watch over the next 24 hours. I will also prepare my broom handle tool that might conceivable work to get them down from 11’ but will probably just cause distress and possibly injury to both of us so I will not deploy it lightly.
