Grandma is enjoying the fire on this Saturday (no Caturday Saturday photo). This is the last time I'll play "Pink Panther" on the TV because she could not stop crying over the loud music. And the TV wasn't even that loud. Plus, I like "Pink Panther" music.
Now she has to cry about a nearby train while sipping her water.

They sure grow fast don't they?

That would be Truly's ginormous stall. It even has one of those Sweeter Heaters in it for when they get 'bigger' than the brooder plate will allow - I think ahead (plotting really...)

Good show Tina - you are a clever girl!

Educational TV is always the best. Just don't let Jaffar string you along for more rehab and TLC - he is a smart one that one - always one step ahead of you :)
He just wants his waddles rubbed (that’s all)

I think it was because of all the changes I made in the Hen House and the nest boxes were all over the place. Now I have all the roosts as a shelf all on one level, and the nest boxes are all closer to the ground. Marty is back in her bottom nest box that she likes :)
My two doesn't like changes either. They play havoc when their run is cleared out

Introducing the current residents of Fluffy Butt Acres

As you can see from the front of the coop, we currently have 4 residents. Patsy, Lilly, Hattie & Jabber.

Patsy & Lilly have been here the longest and we ar enot really certain what kind of birds they are but they are likely Black Sex Links. Hattie and Jabber have just joined the flock this summer as they were chicks we got back in April. Here are their individual photos.

Patsy

She is our alpha hen and is extremely friendly. While not a big fan of being picked up she comes right up to you and will talk and visit.

Lilly is currently #2 in the pecking order and intends to stay there. She has become our little enforcer and she defends the flock from such terrors as squirrels, rabbits, doves, and most importantly, ducks.

II'm getting 25 chicks next week. Been quite a few ive

getting

25 chicks

More to come on our newbies.

Welcome @Gardening Gal ! I see you have just joined! Do you have chickens to share? This thread of By_Bob’s is wonderful, everyone is very helpful and we enjoy seeing photos of everyone’s chickens😊 I especially like chicks and barred rocks, oh and I have this thing for lovely wattles.

Dakota is a brat! She wasn’t in the coop when it was time to close up. She was happily scratching around in the tall grass, way across the yard. I brought her inside. She attacked me when I started having my tacos, she took (stole) three bites of meat and some cheese. I literally had to go eat in the bathroom because she wanted more. :idunno

I pray it is a infection that can be treated for your girls. From my understanding of bird flu, it hits hard and fast. I was reading from onset of symptoms to a dead bird was 2 or 3 days, most often 2. I agree with not calling a vet right now. I'll be honest last year when it was bad and I was hearing of the state coming in and culling entire flocks and neighboring flocks I was plotting. I was thinking of places I could move my flock to and hide them out. I also had in my mind before anyone was allowed to touch my birds, they first had to catch momma hen. Without the use of nets. If they could catch that hen then I was thinking I would not put up a fight.
