I want food and I want it right now. I've looked after the fluffy butt's and I've earned it.

31 days till I get mine.:love

Yup, a lot of them do. I make my own Greek style yogurt, and drain a lot of whey out of it. It's thick enough to hold a spoon upright... even when you turn the jar upside down.

Lots of uses for the whey too. It's great for making mash for the chickens, and acid loving plants like blueberries love it.

That's really interesting 🤔 👍 Thank you 😊

My hens endorsed the external nest box that I made them last weekend!!

I am not an experienced builder as will be obvious if you look closely at my project and I used all scrap wood that I had to dig out from under the snow, but I feel absolutely thrilled that they thought it was a good place to lay!! :love

I have been checking on the camera during my coffee breaks at work and I saw them investigate the nests, and stand immobile in front of them for long periods of time, but this is the first time they laid in them.

Aww me too. I've got a 32 bit netbook that has a windows xp sticker on it. It runs debian now. I wanted something light to haul around with me, so I got it for $20! I think it must be from 2008.

Just recently, at work, I was given two surface 3's. One's got a busted screen, but that's it. The only issue is that they're old! Just from 2015! I put arch on them and they work fine. The one without a busted screen even works with the stylus, so I've been using it for notes during classes. I gave the other one to my mom, before she dropped $600 on some other laptop.

My main workhorse laptop is a thinkpad yoga from 2012. It also works with a stylus. I've got arch on it too, and it's excellent! I can even play games on it, so I get to goof off at work (what I'm doing now).

For my flock... One of the leghorns just flew over the 48" electric poultry netting I got to keep them contained. I was standing out there with them while I let them out of the run, just to see how it'd work out when they're fully grown. She's 3 weeks old. What's her deal? I can't even tell which one it was, because they all look identical. Once she was over, she desperately wanted back over and couldn't figure it out. I had to go herd her back in. What am I going to do with these gals?
Tax. We definitely need tax for all this tech and bits talk!

Maybe I need another run of 48" fence? Find some way to stack them... Would that contain them?!?
I have two who fly up 11’ - and they aren’t even Leghorns.
That said, only one of them has chosen to fly over my 42” fence and she only did it once so far.

I forgot about draining the whey. I do that with kefir too. Drain too much and you get cream cheese.
I also use it to give the chickens - they seem to enjoy it.
