Stayed out in the building for a few hours last night and nothing. When we gave up, we put CeeCee our labxmalamute mix outside for the night. I'm sure whatever it is will be back so plan on trying again tonight. This was entirely my fault. Due to a broody in the coop and the bigger girls bothering her in the mornings if they are not let out at sunrise I was leaving the coop doors open at night for convenience. That has changed and back to being locked up and unhappy girls for a hour until we get out there in the morning. If this takes a few days to figure out what it is, I want to tie CeeCee up beside the coop with a chain long enough so she can get into the building to sleep. Problem with that is CeeCee is a 99% inside dog. If it is a coyote I also do not want her tied up incase it tries to fight her. CeeCee is big, 120lbs of muscle, but if it is more then 1 coyote she would loose that fight.

Adorable. I see at least one little fluffy butt!
I am confused about your setup. You seem to have the brooder plate on its side? I thought it went so they crawl underneath it like it is the momma hen.
It does - I just propped it up so I could access the babies that hide - my back and hops are killing me from all the bending and crouching.

Darn predators- such a worry for all concerned 😢

And darn cranky hens too.

Ok well I will keep checking in.

So cute. How is the weak one doing? Can you offer her some raw egg yolk? Also maybe a couple drops to the beak of straight nutridrench?
Yea I am going to see if she will take some of egg yolk, I never see nutridrench around here, but was giving sugar water.

Im so tired of being sick, is it ok to cry now? (going on week 6) Hida Scan The 25th
And Hades has been crowing a lot lately, Zeus isn't crowing as much. But they started at 4 am lol.
I hear ya sister…. I am pretty much sick and tired of being up all night with my legs - tired of taking meds that make me a zombie and cause stomach pains, tired of being always tired, and tired of migraines from one of the meds I take. Going on 4 years now prior to that it wasn’t too bad.

But older you get worse it is. I have started weening myself off the meds as I am tired of being a zombie and falling down. I would rather just be tired and grumpy from being up all night!

The joys of old age, falling off too many silly crazy horses and bad luck genetics with the RLS!

Whining tax

Yeeeee gads I love babies ❤️ Spying on them is great

Official Pony Sunday post.
Here are some video's I took yesterday. She is currently outside brushing him and getting ready to tack him up for another ride today. She has the full week off this coming week for spring break. Her plans, ride her horse every day. The slow gait she is doing with him in the videos, right now she has him doing 10 laps at this gait each direction before they start goofing off. Between now and May 20 she is going to build him up to 20 laps each direction. The first show of the season at the ring is May 20th. Russ's foot is healed, her new allergy medicine is working and with being on the thyroid pill for a month now she is starting to feel better. Rosie is not 100 percent better but I can tell a difference already and she has more energy. She has also finally gotten over the fear from the fall last summer. I know this seeing as how she is back to galloping at times and playing around on Russ. I did not get a video but last night after their ride and she had already bathed him and was letting him graze what does she do after a hour of grazing? Grabs her bridle reins, snap them on his halter, throws back on her helmet and climbs up bareback for a few minutes before putting him up. That alone was pre-fall attitude from her and I am so thankful to see it again.
Workout time is over, playtime begins.
Russ was then allowed 30 minutes to play or do whatever he wanted to in the ring tack free. Russ wanted to eat of course.

Of course he waits until he is back home in his yard with the lead attached to decide it was a good time to roll around.

Beautiful! Just wonderful!

So good to see her goofing off, having fun and playing around, Russ is worth his weight in gold!! What an awesome horse 😊

Pony Sunday
For once I can contribute!

All you horse people can tell me all about this one. There are usually two of them in a field across the way from me. I keep forgetting to snap a picture but remembered when I was heading off on my trip.

I love that girls coloring. 4 white feet and a nice blaze looks good on any color, but the best in my opinion on darker bays and blacks. I would not mind having a exact copy of that girl in a Rocky mountain form.

Oh good. I thought ‘pretty horse’ but I know even less about types of horse than I do about chicken breeds (hard to achieve, I know!).
