I can picture that, that little chicks would need little steps to get up, not walking up at all but little jumps to little flat ledges. ____-----Sydney's chicks had a hard time with the main coop's ramp.

Others are more experienced, but I've read here that fairy eggs once in a great while shouldn't be a concern. If she consistently produces weird eggs that would be concerning. Is she new to laying? New layers can lay a fairy egg at first.Just a question to put out to y'all:
Yesterday, my hen Knokalina (Funny name, don't laugh, please!) laid a TINYYYYY egg. It waslike a fairy eggwas a fairy egg. It had calcium deposits on the shell, and I will post the pic of it compared to another regular-sized egg. What is going on with her? I cracked the egg this morning for breakfast, and it had a TINY WHINY yolk in there, and was fertilized, a lot.
It tasted fine and all. Should I be concerned??
I'm so sorry to hear that. How long will you be with us, I mean laid up?Not an unusual problem. Just today I was trying to imagine a gutter system on our garage/barn that would be at "man height" and more manageable, and feed some potential garden boxes next to the garage. Something sticking out over the garage doors, feed across and down at one corner of the barn. But be easy to take down for winter.
PS I am on a lot today because I sprained my ankle yesterday and can't do much outside or anywhere, all that stuff that has been keeping me too busy to be on....
There is always one that breaks the rules. Mine are very business like about it.Would you mind terribly stopping by to explain this fact to Nellie, in great detail? She's the loudest, noisiest hen here. If ANYONE is in the coop (or near where she wishes to lay: translate if she can SEE), she buk buk bukkawk loudly enough I can here her at the opposite end of the house, inside, with al windows/doors shut. Horus is demonstrating he inherited her vocal abilities, too.
Phyllis might have a app on her phone that tells her who's in the nesting boxes. There is always one that breaks the rules. Mine are very business like about it.![]()

Oops and fresh tomatoes! It’s quite easy actually. I buy a frozen cheese crust pizza, add my own mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, pepperoni and lots more cheese. Makes a perfect pizza!![]()
