Look Out Phyllis!

I had some leftover macaroni and cheese yesterday so I took it out for the ladies. Everyone was digging in when Phyllis showed up late. She had been over by the coop when I put the food down.

As Phyllis maneuvered to get at the food, Hattie grabbed a huge chunk and started to run off. As Hattie turned around to run Phyllis cut in front of her.

I tried to warn her.

"Look out Phyllis!"

She did not listen.

Nothing would slow Hattie down.

She simply stepped onto Phyllis. A couple of wing flaps and she had Phyllis squooshed to the ground. Phyllis squawked but Hattie just kept going with her special treat in her beak.

Phyllis was startled but fine.

Hattie enjoyed her large clump of Mac n Cheese in peace.
Was Phyllis looking at Beakbook on her phone while running?
Philomena and Beetov-hen, the chicks, were squishing each other on my lap

If it's that bad, they may not care....and there are off road options...didn't we talk about passing a bird...or eggs across?
The laugh emoji is for remembering my ideas for getting chicks across the border 😁

Yes easily done for sure.

I sure hope Kris is having great weather and able to work on her roof…

And that is age trumping youth, or should I say tromping 😁

We know how to get going and steer clear!

The silkie babies got to try out spaghetti noodles today - it was just as big a hit as the grubs and worms 😊

Hi Mr. @BY Bob ,

My human says you love Leghorns. She also said you are a nice man, but are missing one of your lovely flock. I thought I might try to cheer you up a bit.

I'm not a leghorn, rather a beautiful Welsummer, but I think I look like a brown leghorn - see:

And, I'm told you LOVE large floppy combs.....mine is pretty floppy and reasonably sized:

It really IS bigger than it looks in the picture - I promise! I am trying to make it grow more, but not sure how. Even if it does grow some more, I don't think I could ever compete with TGHE's comb.

BUT.........

I'm prettier than my sister, AND have a bigger comb than her!

Okay, gotta go, mom has some work for us. She brought us corn on the cob again. Doesn't she know corn should NOT be on the cob?? :th It is a lot of work to get it all off!
