Just checked, they are 15 1/2 weeks old, surely they are not ready to lay this early.
I think my silkies were not much more than 16 weeks when they started laying eggs. I could be wrong as it was a couple yrs ago, but I was surprised when Henny Penny laid hers.

I was not expecting her to lay eggs before 20 weeks at least.

Integration has begun. I do not think Agathae is too pleased.

Tomorrow Eli will have been broody for ten days.
I am going to start a conversation with her about how golf balls are well known to hatch much faster than regular chicken eggs, and so if she doesn’t have a clutch of little putters by the middle of next week it is time to call it a day.
She just went tut-tut-tut and ran straight back to her nest.
She is one crazy hen!

I would remove the golf balls if you don’t want her to foster chicks removing them might encourage her to give up.

Or not … 😆
