In regards to the Roo issue, the old adage to not borrow trouble comes to mind (I am so guilty of this!) If there is a wee fella that you really do want to try and keep then do it and see if they cant work it out. It’s possible they could.

This Roo issue has been on my mind as well. I have decided to try again when at least one (probably more) of these babies inevitably shows itself to be a boy. I feel like despite the outcome with Oreo I gave him a shot at being a gentleman and I will do the same going forward till I get lucky with a good Roo or two like Mr. P ;)

That was cruel. :( He should have gotten at least 1 pullet for you to keep! After all, more eggs is good......
He apologized to me about it last year. He definitely is feeling bad about it the more times he sees me with our chickens. Not that he can make it better now but he has tried. Needless to say it was very frustrating at the time.
