That’s great, I remember reading an article about some Lab being able to detect gender at 3 days egg development.

Somewhere in Europe, and the male eggs being sold as eating eggs when they were detected as male.

That’s great, I remember reading an article about some Lab being able to detect gender at 3 days egg development.

Somewhere in Europe, and the male eggs being sold as eating eggs when they were detected as male.

Here were two other approaches I read about:

Both seem practical - and I love the sound one - maybe playing Mozart to the broody hens will get them to lay all girls! Of course I hope it isn't some awful noise that upsets the hens. The one with the male marker is clever but I suspect will never be acceptable to consumers so the eggs will get wasted.

Mozart? No, no. The song they would play, would be “Girls just want to have fun!”

So glad your ladies are doing ok, I was wondering were you had got to.

Are you allowed to have a Roo were you live? If so all good.

I believe we can have a Roo. I hope no one says to separate him from the flock. He is getting aggressive from what I hear. Pecking at the Brahma's feet. Though, that could just be because it looks tasty.
We might end up doing a multi coop setup with these chickens from what I'm hearing.
