I need Jaffar to come teach my boys to crow. They chatter back and forth, give alarms, and make the tidbit noise but no crowing at ALL!

I don’t miss the fury of Oreos attacks but I do miss his rather glorious crow!
Don't rush crowing. It will come. And then never stop.......

Does this make me a bad chicken tender?
For complicated reasons involving a cat that disappeared before her vet appointment I made an emergency purchase of a grocery store rotisserie chicken.
Well obviously the cat demanded a lot of it.
And I ate some (quite good I must confess - I have never tried one before).
But I hate food waste so naturally I boiled all the bones for hours to make bone stock.
I just gave the boiled remains to the Princesses. I must say it was slightly unsettling to see them tuck in with such gusto. Bernie running around with a wing tip in her beak was particularly disturbing.
I mean it is just meat and bones right?
But I feel slightly off about it!
That is a line I will not cross. Turkey yes, chicken no. It just makes me uncomfortable. They of course would not care.

As far as the cat goes I get the inspiration. Enzo would do anything for a chicken like that.

The more stories I hear of Marty, the more I am convinced I could get along with that hen and treasure her. I have spent the weekend going out and spending time with Poppet. She is no longer afraid of me and we have had a break through. No treats needed, all I have to do now is go out and just squat down in the coop. I have her willingly hopping up onto my leg to snuggle up in under 2 minutes. Even though she is a love bug I see sass in her. That sass is not directed towards me, but I think it could be if she were broody. I am not afraid, bring on the sass, I welcome it. I am also very seriously considering not letting her have unlimited free range access but instead building a run extension onto the coop. I will find her a friend if I do that, I can see Flurry the cochin not minding being kept in a run. She is not huge on free-ranging anyway, she sticks very close to the coop and in the barn isle. She only comes to the back steps when food is involved. I also think if his cochin lady is involved, Branch would also not mind being contained for longer periods either. I don't know, it is just something I have been pondering on.
I like your thought processes here. I think you may be on the right track.

It’s Halloween season 👻 get over it! Things are supposed to be spooky

Yes. It did the trick in enticing the cat out of her hiding spot.
Out of curiosity is the line you won’t cross just the ick factor (which I am clearly feeling), or something else?

Fat thumbs!

Latin tax: Sylvie taking a short break but not joining the others. She is small, but the camera angle exaggerates the size difference.

Now I am feeling bad about doing it.
Does anyone else let their chickens eat chicken?
