Well, I'm not sure what's going on with Robin. Of my four Bielefelders, she has the biggest comb, so big it flops over. She has the biggest wattles. Both are very red. Yesterday, I noticed her spur buds were 3-4 times as big as the other girls'.

In pictures online, her comb is larger than what they show for females, but not quite as big as a roosters'. Ditto with wattles.

She has squatted for me. She goes into the nest, sits for a bit, scratches around.

Her feathering coloring is (and always was) that of a female. Her actions are that of a female.
So where are the eggs? :barnieThey are nearly 28 weeks old!

I'm just impatient, Robin. You do whatever you need to do. Same for all the pullets. I can buy (cheap, bland) eggs at the store.
My kiddos are well over 30 weeks and only 2
Have started laying this past week or so; one of the Hoover chicks started last week she is around 19 weeks, the other three should start soon, but then who knows it’s winter so maybe they are all going to wait till Spring.

I think Bielefelders are slowly maturing so she might be old before starting to lay eggs.

I have too, gently, on a feather sticking positively sideways out from a thigh, but found nope, it's definitely attached, and they didn't like me touching it!
Same! It stayed like that for 3 days too from the thigh, straight out. "Get Off" is what I think Patient said when I tried to tug it, lol

Wild or misplaced feathers can be easily snipped off with scissors ✂️
Many chooks have one off colored feather that looks out of place, Please don’t cut it off. (It’s an accent feather) very chic!
Who knew!? My GLW has a white feather coming in!!

Stay patient. Bernie had a red comb for months and months and took 11 months before she laid an egg.
Pooh's comb has been developed and red for weeks and she hasn't even looked at the nest boxes. Her same breed, same hatch day sister - Piglet - has been laying regularly for weeks.
She will lay when she is ready!

If she is a Bielefelder, you would know if she was a roo, with coloring and that like you said. She’s just taking her time. BBQ has larger wattles and combs than all my other hens. I thought she was a rooster before I knew a ton about chickens.

Ohhh! I’m not sure if I owe SHRA tax for this, but if you don’t have a rooster, she might be taking some traits of a rooster?
