It seems it is not only ill-mannered people who yell at and abuse food service workers!
:gig
You know that sometimes I volunteer at the rescue mission, cooking and serving food for the homeless. But wow, talk about rude behavior to a food worker :barnie:idunnowhat’s wrong with people?

Dakota was attacked by the beeyatch Flash, tonight in the coop. She was too afraid to go try to perch again. So I took her in with me. She knows that I won’t hurt her. IMG_2944.jpeg

Be still my heart! Two black bearded ladies that are dual purpose - and one with Feathered legs!!! How could anyone want anything more (well, other than a few stripes, that is) Especially since they FLY, too!!! 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰 They are both so gorgeous. ( I know, your fascinator ladies are all that and a sandwich, too, but, really, I am smitten!!)
Oh me too. I am completely smitten. I am actually smitten with all my ladies right now. They are all very different personalities.

On December 9th, Robin laid a record egg: 84 grams.

Today, Pip topped that with an 85 gram egg.

My little Pippy! :loveI told her she doesn't ever have to lay one that large again. It's probably a double yolk; we'll know in a few days.

All 5 of my pullets are laying now. :clap
Wow she s an over achiever there!

Twofer Tuesday: Dottie and Fez asking for mealworms, with Perry in the background. View attachment 3712798

Fascinating little free ranging time for the chickens. I let everyone out, including Perry (it was her first time free with the flock), and did a lot of observing. After mingling with them for just a couple of minutes, during which Dottie flared (just asking for more personal space, it did not escalate): View attachment 3712809
Perry found her way back to the run for a long luxurious dust bath (in the sand box that she is fenced off from normally) while the others went to be productive (lotsa rain means lotsa worms).

When the flock started to show signs of being ready to return, I let just Dottie (boss lady, even tempered, kind) and Fez (last year’s bully, has scalped a chick) back into the run to see how they went with Perry. Wow Perry could not believe her luck, the older chickens were very mellow with her! So I then let Quincy in as well and that was very chill as well. Look at Perry (and her short legs) studying her new family as they parade past her.View attachment 3712805

It’s interesting to me that Becky and Fez (previous bullies) don’t care to beat up on Perry themselves like they would have last year: they have passed the baton on to Whiskey and Albert! It seems that making sure Perry has harassers is more important than getting it done themselves.
I love this picture story, it's really great, you caught everyone in the moment! Looks like it is working out with Perry, yay!

They need to install a motion detector so her husband can anticipate arrivals of customers to the window 😆
