I sure hope George doesn’t poop on the floor!

This would never fly here, it’s a bio security issue having the goose around the animal feeds, it’s also why I don’t like seeing people with their dogs at Pet Smart - I don’t know if they vaccinate their dog for like the stuff dogs can get…. Or cats for that matter also.
Someone reported him for bringing a farm animal that isn't considered a service animal to the store. Geese and other farm animals aren't allowed in the store because they may distract service dogs that are trying to do their job.

I just snooped to see what the forecast is on Thursday. Mid 50's and dry. After today's initial visit with hospice and the paperwork is filled out I do not need to be present when she is here. I am going to make sure I have a pot of coffee brewed before she gets here. I am taking the entire pot outside with me and opening up Poppet's coop and I am going to sit in the run between the horse stalls. Just sit, listen to the horses breathing and watch the chickens. I have not been able to do that truthfully for more then 5 minutes at a time here and there since September when Grandma came home from the hospital after covid. The thought of being able to do that just about brings me to tears. How much sitting I will actually get to do we will see. Russ will try to mob me for my coffee. Dirt will beg and demand booty scratches and Branch will need snuggled. I will relish every single second of it.
That sounds absolutely lovely. I’m so glad you have it on your calendar for yourself.

This came to mind. I was thinking how she has grown into her role as Queen & overcome others' doubts.
It's the story of a young lady's struggles fighting her way from last to first. Despite all the adversity nothing could stop her from pecking her way to the top.

I really can’t (but of course I do) believe that Aurora’s beard and cheeks are so immaculate. Geez what all happened to my girls- they need some advice.
Aurora has always kept her beard and muffs immaculately groomed. I have no idea how she does it but they are always spectacular.

One look from Albert (chicken on the left perch), and Perry (on the right perch) says “No, no, no need to come over here- I’ll see myself out!” and proceeds to walk the plank right back out of the run.

Whiskey also scares Perry, but I scare Whiskey- so she’s usually pretty safe from her if I’m around.
If not for them, the other four girls are totally ready to let her integrate. They peck at her, but just in a plain ole teaching her her place in the flock sort of way. Not with the nasty double-foot high kick I’ve seen Albert land.

Otherwise, Albert has laid seven eggs total. Of those, only two had shells thick enough to not be broken upon dropping, and only one was laid in a nest. What do I do? The beautiful blue eggs are going to waste! Tums? I started giving her a private snack with ground eggshells in it, and the flock always has oyster shell available.
