Lol Sherlock is leery of stepping in it....later, discovered his ball sinks...he's working on it...and stuck his nose in yesterday to get the ball.Thirsty Thursday
Yesterday was a fun day out. The snow has melted enough that you can eat it without standing in it (a very popular situation). And the melt off the roof of the Chicken Palace is running out of the gutters and creating huge pools of chilled wild water. Also very popular!

Don't name you chicks before their egg is laid!
Thank you for the laugh folks - I am still miserable here - and if I find out who gave me this virus I will make them do hay this summer! It has been a struggle all week here at work - then doing chores also…
I just want to go home and go to bed! Or sleep on a hay bale…. Anywhere!

Gosh those chicks even from last week have grown! Bert was trying to jump his mum this morning, Henny was going to clobber him - he’s a cheeky boy now! And that Betty is an independent little thing - she goes off on her own chowing down with the big girls who just ignore her
I think Henny is back to laying eggs, I got two silkie eggs yesterday, one is Marty’s and I bet the other is from Henny Penny. Good! I need all four of them laying eggs, next month I will go and get my friends silkie Roo, and put with those four. Come the end of May I should have a bunch of silkie babies to look forward to!
And I think that will be it for babies this year; if I put 2 dozen eggs in the incubator and if most of them hatch, that will be an awful lot of chickens running around here! And if someone does get really bad broody like Sophia did last year, I can always get chicks I guess - if I have to. Now that I know Peavey gets them in almost weekly…. Maybe some Midnight Majesty Marans - I have been reading and seems they are a hybrid of likely cuckoo Marans and/or BR!

@RoyalChick look black with feathered legs and dark brown eggs - oh yes I need some of those !!!! Oh well what’s 3 more…..
I’ll need names people….
You, my dear man is far worse than the tax inspectorsWe are going to need tax from everyone discussing how packages are delivered.
You're naming birds before the egg is laid....at least wait until they hatch!Hahahaha so that’s how I reboot Ol Blue!
Ok so I can name one of those MM Marans chicks I am ordering Blue - I need a pickup date - shipping here started 30th April (Tuesdays every week after that).
Or maybe a silkie named Bleu![]()
I have bigger troubles now.

You should have seen princess after I washed her feet today.Do they moult those along with the rest of their feathers? I have never noted my silkies leg/foot feathers moulting…. They are likely replacing them separately over time I figured.
I certainly never noted Henny Penny losing her fuzzy feet! I told her this morning she walked like a duckI think the bok bok bok was telling me off haha!
