I'm so glad you are back to almost normal. I do love some Tap Dancing. Has she ever seen Gregory Hines?

I see that Sony Vaio laptop in the background. I assume that is your backup. I always wanted one of those super slim machines but could never afford one. Do they even still make those?
I think they do Bob but there is no way I could afford one now.
The one in the picture is very very old. It has easily been the best computer I've had and I've had a few over the years. These days it just isn't powerful enough.
It's a single core processor with just 512MB of RAM. I stripped Microshite Doors off it years ago and it trundles along on Linux.
The two worst PCs have been Dell and HP.

It's sad that computers get so out paced by software demands and there is nothing you can do to upgrade the components that do still work. Taking the Microsoft stuff of probably bought you years more usage out of it.

I switched to a tablet from a laptop years ago because of weight. I just was forced to replace one that was 3 years old because the latest operating system upgrade was bigger in size than the core storage on the unit, 32 GB! I could not figure out why it essentially stopped responding to me one day. I identified that something which was "unclassified" was taking up all my storage. I got support on the phone and after 30 minutes I finally got them to admit it was the operating system. The tablet worked perfectly great until that point and then it was trash. Such a waste.

I figure at the price I paid I am spending about $150 a year on just internet equipment. Amazing.

This just happened.

So I googled the Vaio. Sony sold off the division but someone still makes Vaio laptops. They are also still super expensive.

The OS I'm using atm runs in RAM. It will run with 256KB. It lives on a USB drive.
I plug it in, do my stuff and then unplug it. There is nothing on my hard drive.:D
It's Linux of course.:love
Hopefully when my package arrives from the UK there will be a mini PC I bought.
All that pile of crap in the picture will go. The mini PC is about the size of a hard drive.:D It uses 7Watts of electricity and for day to day stuff it's as fast as the Intel i5 I've got sitting in the box beside me.
I built the large silver PC you may have seen in other pictures to play a particular game on; Unreal Tournament 3. The game is unfortunately tied into Windows XP and thus not really playable these days.:( There are workarounds which I will investigate another day. Atm it's just get the net running reliably.

Need help from you my experienced chicken-ey friends. I posted this in the emergencies, medical thread but I trust you guys.
I am mildly freaked out - only mildly as everyone is running around as normal except Maggie who is in the nest box but this wasn't warm when I picked it up so I don't think she just laid it.
What is it? Should I worry? Let me know if this link doesn't take you to my post on the emergencies forum.

So everyone knows that for every good picture you get of you chickens you have 100s of crappy ones. Going through the one's i've taken the past week i found one that i want to strangle drumstick over. If he hadn't moved at the last second this one would have been one of my best yet of him.

Why Drummie, why did you have to shake your head.
