During the wet times it's a never ending battle with weeds. All our chickens roam an acre and a half around back of the house. The bantams go over and through big enough holes in the fence and graze out front. Wetry not to use pesticides but the fleas were so bad that we had to spray our back yard a couple months ago. We didn't let the chickens out until we cut the grass again. It took care of the fleas and no chickens were harmed.
