Gorgeous! Peaches are DH's favorite 🍑

On the farm we had to pick fruit before fully tree ripe & set them on the table or kitchen counter to ripen; otherwise birds would peck holes in the fruit & ants & flies would get into the sweet open wounds. Rats or mice were never a problem but birds were the enemy.
I was thinking of doing that, they are about a week or so late this year. I think all the rain has had something to do with that.

It’s supposed to be nice for the next few days, so I’ll leave them a few more days and then bring in to ripen.

I also have some Asian pears which should be ripe in a couple weeks.

Apples are all over the place, some are ripe, some don’t ripen until first frost. Some are past ripe already. I’ll get some apples and see if the chooks will eat any, they normally are not fond of apples. Cabbage is their thing, and pumpkins.

I just might go nuts wearing this straight jacket! Dr can't say surgery would heal right & waiting on Nature (God) for healing. They don't like doing surgery on us old dinosaurs 🦕 !

Prayers 🙏 please would be much appreciated for healing of my right humerus.
I am so sorry to hear this, yes surgery is risky with elderly. But if the bone isn’t healing properly then it might be required. It sounds like it isn’t knitting together properly, the older you are the slower this things work, and any
movement will dislodge the scab forming at the bone ends.

Where is the break located? Nearer your shoulder? Or the elbow?

Thinking good strong positive thoughts for a better job with the ends knitting together.

I will be glad to add you to our prayer list if you want me to.

Congratulations! You've joined the ranks of disgruntled customers at the mercy of shoddy workmanship!

In all the yrs we've remodeled plus the dubious pleasure of once building a new home I've never seen a job well done! Contractors book your job who in turn sub-contract a plumber, electrician, roofer, painter, cabinetmaker, window installer, etc, who they in turn hire general laborers standing in front of Home Depot who are the only guys you will ever see at your residence & don't really care how well things are built (well, it's not THEIR place, is it?). And the main 1st contractor may or may never come by to inspect or do quality control . Heaven forbid if a contractor ever even answers their phone in a timely manner or else you get endless msg machine tones!

We've had brand new fiberglass tubs installed w/ a giant hole in front that looked like a boot had kicked it open, we had a staircase w/ plywood holes so big the knots were falling out of the steps, visibly warped walls/ceilings, overhead attic door cut in the wrong room from the architect's plans, window glass that cracked from framing stress, leaking roof after the first rain, & I can go on & on & on & on:th.

Rant :rant Tx ~ find the 3 Silkie pullets :lau

And then they cut corners and don't pay people, and do a terrible job.

Thank you ❤️

Yep, I thought calcium might be the problem but Dr said no, there's a sticky substance thats meant to connect the break which is a biological issue. I'm being sent to another Dr for a stimulator treatment or whatever its called :idunno ?

The break is upper part of humerus. Being one-armed sucks but we're thanking God's blessings its better than a hip or leg break!

I shudder whenever I read one of you BYCer's have taken a tumble cuz its so easy to be preoccupied or in a hurry to have an accident. Our animals need us so y'all be vigilant :hugs

My temper is short. The kids were out playing in the last few minutes of daylight. I pointed to the coop and said “go to bed, I’m not kidding!” They all ran inside quick.
Heehee! Our brood waits at the sliding door staring us down waiting for DH to escort them to the coop/run. They know how to put themselves away but they trained him to give an escort. How do they learn this stuff & we fall for it?!
