I was thinking of doing that, they are about a week or so late this year. I think all the rain has had something to do with that.

It’s supposed to be nice for the next few days, so I’ll leave them a few more days and then bring in to ripen.

I also have some Asian pears which should be ripe in a couple weeks.

Apples are all over the place, some are ripe, some don’t ripen until first frost. Some are past ripe already. I’ll get some apples and see if the chooks will eat any, they normally are not fond of apples. Cabbage is their thing, and pumpkins.

Yummy!
How did you get them to eat pumpkin?

I've seen pictures of chickens eating a whole pumpkin starting w/a hole & they curiously peck at it to get to the flesh & seeds inside. We tried that & our hens ignored the whole pumpkin just strolling past it. Not the least bit interested.

Then we cut a bigger hole ~ nothing.

We cut it up into smaller chunks ~ not a peck!

We put pulled-out seeds for them ~ ignored.

Last chance ~ some pieces were cooked and mashed up & finally thrown away when it was bypassed.

Yet they love other tubular squash ~ baked white sweet potato being a real delicacy!

I’m starting to think that I should fix the problem myself. I would do a better job than them (obviously)
And I can get parts from Home Depot in town. :idunno
Good luck Alex
It seems there has been a massive increase of People that are so deeply selfish, lazy and unreliable.

I'm really sorry you have been left like this

Ok caught up!

Alex get them back to fix your fence and gate properly - do as RC says stand over them

Jenn - your new babies are just lovely, sorry to hear about Kashmir.

Bgmathteach - oh those babies are wonderful!

RC - hahaha sunbathing beauties, I had Mr P out with most of the flock today all sunbathing, and locked Bert up for a change. I had to do hay and didn’t want to worry about fights etc.

Ok all I am off to do chores and then bed, I fell off of one of the hay wagons and went down between the two wagons, thought I popped my shoulder, but seems ok. But I am pooped and still have more hay tomorrow to get in.

Night all!
How are you today Kelly?

That shoulder has been a problem for a long time for you, now I'm worried

I'm about to check on princess

This family turned out quiet neighbourhood in an all night festival.
I don't think any of the local babies would have slept in their bedrooms last night.

I couldn't get princess out of the coup for fear of scaring her even more in the dark.
So now I am seriously worried she survived at all.

I seriously hope these people leave. They are disgusting , they have small children and I don't know how their dog coped .

Doing good, rest is a wonderful thing 👍👍👍

Just up and enjoying the night- it’s mild and the crickets and other bugs are making a lot of noise.

Happy pony Sunday

Reenie sleeping - though I just hear truly roaring and kicking the stall wall. Crazy mare

It’s very warm in the barn again - I had the fans running but I guess I shouldn’t have set the timer, should have just kept them on full all night.
Buttercup is very warm.

I just might go nuts wearing this straight jacket! Dr can't say surgery would heal right & waiting on Nature (God) for healing. They don't like doing surgery on us old dinosaurs 🦕 !

Prayers 🙏 please would be much appreciated for healing of my right humerus.
Miserable! That really is like a straight jacket.
So sorry.
Do you have a cat?
A cat’s purr is the same frequency as the medical vibration therapy used to help heal bone fractures.
