It's Caturday and this is my last on posting updates on him. He passed away with stage 4 cancer yesterday.

He was buried today by my neighbour. Where we use too hang out together when all my girls and my dog was with me.

I bought him a scratch post and play area my friend built it for him the night before he died, even though the wind and rain was horrendous. All worth it because he loved it and insisted on getting back up when I took him down, even though he was in horrific pain

I'm so very very sorry. He was a special companion and you did well for him. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

I will dearly miss his stories and lovely mug.

I can ski (or rather used to) but don’t anymore. Too dangerous for these old bones.

When I worked at Mnt St Louis they kept trying to get me back skiing but it wouldn’t have looked very good if their H&S / HR manager broke a leg skiing 😁. I did walk the resort daily though on my safety walks. And I would ride the chair lifts up to do inspections etc. once I even rode it back down! Not protocol but I needed to get back down for a meeting.

It was a great spot to work but the pay sucked so I moved on.

Now I am rocking it as a Chicken Mama
And paying ski tax. Let's go all you skiers. Tax time.

It makes no sense that they wait this late. It's just crazy. Hattie has been done for 6 weeks and she is a late molter. Even Aurora is fully covered again if not done molting. What is wrong with these ladies?
Poor ladies ☹️.

Try Silkies ~ they've never gone bald here. We don't even know they've moulted till we see some new crest pin feathers growing among the regular fluff. Come to think of it the bigger breeds never went bald either. They lost tail feathers but not butt fluff. I don't know if it's our milder climate or that we feed lots of sunflower seeds, mealworms, extra vitamins, & ground lamb for extra protein :idunnothat prevents the baldness? A real puzzler when we see pics of other severely moulting birds? I'm leaning toward a sudden climate plunge that maybe triggers a bird's severe or overnight moult? Change & stress contribute to many negative issues w/ chickens.

Rare to find feathers in the yard ~ or maybe our regional Santa Ana Winds blows them away?

Nope. I ordered a replacement. It will take weeks to have another. I may try and repair it.
I was promised a 5-ft American flag from the USO. They sent me confirmation that they received my request & the flag would take 6 to 8 weeks to process. It's been over 12 months & haven't heard or seen a thing:pop.

Needless to say ~ they won't be getting any more contributions from me ☹️.
