We have that here also, can you not get a bale of straw? It would be less expensive.

I ordered a couple of bags of that. I can get bailed straw but only at certain times.
The snow has started in earnest but it is still warm. I am heading out for lunch with some friends. Hopefully I will be able to get back. The ploughs are out on the county roads. Worst case I can hike to my house from the road (done that before).
Chickens are set up with food and water for several days. No sign of condensation under the umbrellas so I am keeping them in place.
I do need to make it to the coop tonight to close the pop door and turn on the warming station.
The big freeze starts tomorrow.

Attic blast tax. Look at Calypso. Not quite fully feathered, but so much better than a few days ago!

Sorry to say, I have ear infections, sore throat, headaches, chills, fever and body aches all over. Other than that, I’m good! Chooks are fine

Sydney as well. Both Aurora and Sydney are pretty intentional about enforcing "The Order" right now.

I think they are a ready as they can be for the cold. It's been snowing here since 8:00 am.

Chilly-be-willikers out there

Made a fake cart on murray mcmurray. Limited on selection but 228$ for the chicks I picked.
Maybe I'm just too poor for those chickens.
