The birds are angry at me this morning! I must keep them in the coop and run, because Edison power, is falling and removing trees on the property line, where my flock likes to range.:(
Better safe, than sorry!
Update: Now, they are out of the Barn/coop, but hidden under the porch! :( :barnie(Hard to play with porch chickens):(

Shad, would you like to comment on beak preening. I have noticed Lavender doing it a lot to Morrigu. I thought @ first Lavender was cleaning Morrigu's beak of food residue but I couldn't see any food so now I don't know what was going on.

I've witnessed this with my silkie roo and hen. I've also watch hen pairs do it, but not as often. I do believe it is a form of affection.

Why are you taking down the mirrors. Let them look at themselves and gussy up before they emerge in the morning.

I can't wait to see how this all turns out. Thanks for posting here.
According to my friend, with far more trailer park chicken experience than I have, they will peck at the mirrors and because they are old glass ones they can break them. I have got 15 littles, 2dot, Buffy, little red, and Barney’s ex red girl in the new “coop”... but it started raining a little too heavily and most sheltered under my trailer. I’ll be heading out again shortly to gather the rest into the new abode.
